star warts
So many of you asked if they could buy these guys. I only made this one set, so I decided to auction them off on ebay! Auction closes on Tuesday December 22nd.
I had to do it, couldn't resist. My contribution to the mounting excitement.

Count down to Christmas with me, traditional german style with an advent calendar. Every day from December 1st to December 24th I will open one door and share what's behind it with you!
The Black Wagon show is still up until December 7! Swing by if you are out and about on Mississippi Ave.
Meet her tonight at Guardino Gallery.
Little Things opens tomorrow at Guardino Gallery. Happy Thanksgiving!
Working on many things at the same time right now. Pictured: ornaments and candy colored ear wax.
Nine Footlers and Thumb Twiddlers! Also new from me: Elephantoms, Yoga Goddesses and more. These guys will make their debut at Guardino Gallery next Friday for the yearly Little Things show. Lots of great artists participate. Opening Reception Friday November 27th, 6-9pm.
Finally! People have been asking for weather-proof sculptures from me for ages. And these guys just get better every year if they are left outside to put on moss. My new concrete garden sculptures will be available, among lots of other work, at the Kennedy School in NE Portland next weekend. I'm going to be part of the Siren Nation Art and Craft Sale. Sunday, November 15th, 10am to 4pm. Have a beer with your art.
I am returning to Black Wagon on Mississippi Ave for a sweet show full of things that fly! Balloons, hot air balloons and bees, flies and some evil wasps too.

I now have a kiln goddess watching over my next firing. This is a tradition with potters to have a small god or goddess sitting nearby to protect you from all the many things that can go wrong inside a kiln. I hope she will do a good job.
A few months ago I did the illustrations for this charming web video. My friends at Preditorial created it for NPR's Market Place and I supplied them with the drawings. Fun!
I have created a summer meadow for A Splendid Summer Show at Off The Walls Gallery in the charming town of Shelton , Washington. Local artists Glenhelen Smither and Jim Knull also contribute to the show. Shelton is at the southern tip of the Puget Sound and less than half an hour drive from Olympia, WA. Swing by if you are planning a trip to the Olympic Peninsula this summer!

Here is a fresh batch of big worry warts. They looked so worried in their box, poor things. These are the first ones made from clay because- yippee!- I just got a small kiln. Expect to see more clay critters coming soon. I'm extremely excited about that kiln and a little worried about burning the house down!
Specially made for the 88 Strong group show at The Goodfoot. For this show the invited artists are given a bunch of amusing themes to choose from and apparently I am a sucker for that kind of thing. These were the ones I chose: Body Hair Is The New Black, Catfish, Daredevil and Owl Babies. How could I resist? Reception is on Thursday the 25th of June, 5pm until midnight at The Goodfoot 2845 SE Stark, Portland Oregon. This is another cash and carry show and all art goes for $ 50 a pop. They are even framed- I'd call that a bargain. The Goodfoot is a bar, so you can combine your drinking with your culture that night.
For my show in Shelton, WA I am making a whole meadow full of flowers. It was so nice out this weekend, we all got a taste of summer here in Portland.
This spider thought it was lunch time when it came by to check out the flies I am working on. Must be quite life-like. I'm making insects for an upcoming show at Off The Walls Gallery in Shelton, Washington in July. More pictures soon.
I found this rummaging through the files on my computer. I had played around with illustrating the fairy tale about the 7 little goats whose mom leaves them home alone. Later the wolf tricks them into opening the door for him and all but the littlest one get eaten. Mom just cuts open the wolf while he's asleep and frees her children. A little bit gruesome you think? Nah...
It's about to happen. Little Things will be back at the Guardino Gallery November 28th to December 28th. Yay! I love this group show, where purchased art can be taken home straight off the wall. Pieces are all 7" and under, made by dozens of different artists. I made a small army of Royals of many different species. Opening reception on November 28th 6-9pm.
